The third Grassroots Advocacy Training and Lobby Day organized by Interfaith Peace-Builders and the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation has ended as another success!
Nearly 200 people from almost 30 states came to Washington to learn important skills for their activism and engage their congressional representatives on important issues of public policy.
Participants held over 60 meetings with congressional offices and pursued clear policy objectives of conditioning military aid to Israel and investigating weapons transfers to Israel and violations of US law.
Over the coming weeks, we will be working to post video and workshop materials from the event. In the meantime, you can access the Congressional Asks and add your voice to the debate!

1. Book a Meeting with your Members of Congress During Constituent Work Week and/or Spring Recess
March 21 - 25, 2011 is Congress' Constituent Work Week and April 18 - 29, 2011 is Spring Recess. During these dates, your representatives will be at home in your local district.
Act now to book a meeting and take the Grassroots Advocacy Training and Lobby Day asks directly to the decision makers! Assemble a delegation of concerned constituents, or go solo, and download our Congressional Advocacy Packet with the full lists of asks. The packet includes the memos, letters, resources and Talking Points our activists took to Capitol Hill on March 7.

2. Join the Congressional District Coordinator Network
The best way to remain active and engaged in legislative advocacy is to join the Congressional District Coordinator network. An initiative of the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, the CDC Network is supported by numerous members of the coalition, including Interfaith Peace-Builders. Take a leadership role in organizing locally for national change by joining the CDC today.
3. Join Move Over AIPAC protests in DC May 21-24, 2011!
CODEPINK: Women for Peace, Global Exchange, and the US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, together with over 50 peace and justice groups, are organizing a gathering in Washington DC from May 21-24, 2011, called “Move Over AIPAC: Building a New US Middle East Policy.” The event provides a timely and action-oriented follow-up opportunity to the Grassroots Advocacy Training and Lobby Day. Timed to coincide with the annual policy meeting of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), activists and concerned citizens from around the country will come together to learn about the extraordinary influence AIPAC has on U.S. policy and how to strengthen an alternative that respects the rights of all people in the region.

4. Join an upcoming Interfaith Peace-Builders Delegation to Palestine/Israel
Take your advocacy to the next level by joining Interfaith Peace-Builders in our unique delegations. Travel with us to meet the organizers and advocates at the forefront of the struggle for peace with justice in Israel/Palestine.
Since 2000, Interfaith Peace-Builders has sent nearly 600 people on 35 fact-finding delegations to Israel/Palestine. Today, our delegations continue as a testament to the transformative power of learning directly from those living in Israel/Palestine. Travel with us to learn more, gain skills for advocacy on this issue, and meet and network with organizations and individuals working in Israel/Palestine.
